Marbury vs. Madison- A landmark case for the Supreme Court because it was the first time Supreme Court declared a law unconstitutional using Judicial Review.
McCulloch vs. Maryland- Congress was given more powers by the Supreme Court's decision to include Congress' implied powers from the Constitution. The state government cannot impede on constitutional exercises of the federal government.
Miranda vs. Arizona- Criminal suspects must be informed of their Constitutional rights like the right against self-incrimination.
Plessy vs. Ferguson- Segregation was started in society to separated African Americans from whites. Most things in society became "separate but equal."
Brown vs. Topeka Board of Education- Segregation in schools was declared unconstitutional and paved the way for the civil rights movement.
